Fred Radfar, MD


Dr. Fred Radfar is a psychiatrist by training. He has had more than thirty three years of experience as physician. As a general practitioner he has practiced in military, emergency room, general hospital etc.

He entered residency program of St. Francis Hospital of Pittsburgh. This program has very diversified services in addiction medicine and psychiatry.
After finishing psychiatry, he began practicing In St.Francis Hospital and outpatient in his office on Penn avenue in Pittsburgh. In early 1990ís he also began to practice in his new office in Dormont, Pa.while continuing his inpatient practice in St.Francis focusing mainly on addiction, eating disorders, and as consultant in liaison psychiatry.

After closure of St.Francis, Dr. Radfar began practicing in WPIC and St.Clair Hospitals. In 2003 he started his practice in Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh as a consultant. He continues his practice in Dormont office as well.

Dr. Radfar is interested in teaching of his patients and has lot of material that he has been giving to his patients on mood disorder, addiction and eating disorder and other issues. Some of his teaching material are on internet exclusively for his patients.


James F Donnelly, MA

Jim Donnelly has over twenty-five years of professional experience in the helping professions. During this time he has developed skills in a variety of techniques including Cognitive-Behavioral, Psychology, Gestalt psychology, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Mindfulness Meditation, Psychodrama and EMDR.

Jim has given presentations at the Center for Integrative Medicine at Shadyside Hospital, WPIC, St Francis Hospital, Mayview Hospital, Warren State Hospital, Kearns Retreat Center and the Pittsburgh Jewish Community Center.

Jim received his Masterís degree in Psychology from Duquesne University in 1969 and his license to practice Psychology in the state of Pennsylvania in 1975.

Realizing that our sense of self is influenced by our current relationships and not just our childhood histories led him to enroll and complete a two year training program with the Gestalt Institute of New England in 1992. Further recognizing that our sense of self is also created through our bodies, he studied these processes in a one year training program with the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, graduating in 2002.
Most recently he has focused on a more holistic approach that includes the energetic and spiritual dimension in the Mind-Body approach.

His commitment to effective and sustainable therapy has moved his therapy away from long term psychodynamic therapy to a more compassionate energy-based approach using Mindfulness Mediation, Cardiac Coherence training and EMDR

Ivan L. Lambert, MA

Ivan Lambert has over 30 years of professional experience in the helping professions. He began full time counseling in 1977 and spent the next 8 years working with children and adolescents, including unwed mothers and children.

In 1985, he began working with addictions and in 1989 earned his certification in additions. He has been serving clients privately since 1988. He joined the practice of Stress Management Center of America in 1997. CCW in the fall 2002

Ivan received his BS degress from Milligan College, Tennessee in 1977 and his Masters of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Slippery Rock University in 1983. He has bee a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2002. Over the years Ivan has developed skills in a variety of traditional therapy as well as spiritual guidance including; Transpersonal Psychology, Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Psychology, mind-Body and Spiritual processes.

Ivan has also given presentation for St. Francis Medical Center and Kearns Spirituality Center. He has also facilitated, for over 3 years, a spiritual growth group that met monthly in the Pittsburgh area. This group utilized the practices of Heart Center and Mindfulness Meditation.

Deborah V. Gershanok

is a licensed clinical social worker who joined SCMA in December 2012.


In 1985 she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science at the State University of New York at Albany. In 1987 she completed her Masters in Social Work at Yeshiva University in New York City. The culmination of academics, fieldwork, internships, and research focused on applying creative art therapies to addicted populations. Post graduate professional roles included school based prevention as well as leadership roles and direct practice work in AIDS social work from 1988-1991.

Through a Pennsylvania State Maternal Child Health Grant, Deborah entered the University of Pittsburgh Public Health Social Work Program. Between 1991 and 1997, Deborah taught adjunct counseling and social work courses at Duquesne University, The University of Pittsburgh, and Point Park University. Additionally, she did extensive research work in assessing community health needs of the Greater Pittsburgh's self-help and minority health needs through the University of Pittsburgh as well as the specific concerns of the Greater Pittsburgh Jewish communities through the Jewish Healthcare Foundation. She earned her PhD in Social Work in 1997, and her Master in Public Health in 1994 from the University of Pittsburgh.

Clinical Expertise and Practice Information

Her expertise is in psychodynamic psychotherapy, and has advanced certification from The Pittsburgh Psychoanalytic Institute. Recent advanced training includes Cognitive Behavioral Techniques Based Mindfulness. Currently her practice is limited to older teens and adults who are seeking in depth long term individual, family and group therapy.

Deborah was a staff clinician at WPIC's Center for Children and Families 2002-2009. She earned her PA LCSW in 2005. From 2009-2012 she provided employee assistance specialization and community based therapy for various organizations with diverse populations. Deborah is a psychiatric social worker on the Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit at St. Clair Hospital since 2011. She provides on line health related assessment and therapy for

Deborah has a specialized small yoga based psychotherapy private practice, Oregon Sky Therapy Services, LLC in Mt. Lebanon, PA. She earned her yoga instructor certification, RTY - 200, in 2011 from the Himalayan Institute of Pittsburgh, and in 2013 earned a certification in Therapeutic Yoga from the White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, CA.

Personal Data

Deborah is married almost 20 years and is the mother of three children and enjoys travel, many pets, and an organic lifestyle.
